Why do I see listings in other languages? How do I search in other languages?

Etsy is a single global marketplace representing a community from more than 150 countries around the world and as we provide more support for our international sellers, including additional language support, you may see more listings appear in a variety of languages.

If you’re seeing a mixture of languages within a listing, it’s because either the title or description doesn’t exist in your language.

You're welcome to purchase items in listings available in another language, as long as the seller offers shipping to your country.

To narrow your search results by language, you can use the language filters available on the left hand side of search results. Currently this is only available for shoppers browsing the site in German, French, and English (UK). Searching in those languages will return items listed in those languages. German, French, and English (UK) search terms will also be translated into English (US) and matching items listed in English (US) will also be shown.

If you're a seller and you'd like to list in multiple languages, read more here

If you need help understanding an item listing’s description or if you find that you receive a convo in another language, ask a bilingual friend to help you, or reach out to the Etsy community for help.

You can also use services like Google translate and Microsoft translate which can help you decipher foreign convos and descriptions.

(Etsy is not affiliated with any of these services.)
