Feedback

Feedback is a way to talk about your experience with a transaction. Buyers can tell the world about the service received from a seller, and about the item purchased. Sellers can leave feedback for buyers about the payment process.

You also have the option of leaving a customer appreciation photo! This is a great way to show your love for the item you've received, or to thank a wonderful customer!

Step 1: From Your Etsy, click Feedback

To find your Feedback page, click on Your Etsy in the gray navigation bar at the top of the site. The Feedback link is located in the left sidebar of Your Etsy. Here you can view your completed feedback, your items awaiting feedback and your appreciation photos. Both the buyer and seller have the ability to leave feedback for a transaction.

To leave feedback, select the "Items Awaiting Feedback" tab.

You can leave feedback for items individually or in batches. This walk-through will focus on how to leave individual feedback; see the FAQ section below for details about batch feedback.


Step 2: Rate the transaction

Rate the transaction as positive, negative or neutral. You may leave a comment related to the transaction if you like. Be honest with your rating, but please try to resolve the issue by communicating with the other person before leaving negative feedback.


Step 3: Add a customer appreciation photo

You may add an optional customer appreciation photo to your feedback entry. This is not required, but it can be a fun way to thank the buyer or seller.

To add an image, use the browse button to locate the image file on your computer. Images may be in gif, jpeg, or png format.

You do not need to add an image when you submit your feedback rating. If you leave a positive rating, you may add your appreciation photo later by clicking the Completed Feedback tab and viewing "Left for others." You cannot add appreciation photos when using the batch feedback tool, but you can add an image later.


Step 4: Submit your feedback

Review your feedback entry and click Submit. You've just left feedback!

You can view all the feedback you've left or received by clicking the Completed Feedback tab on this page.


Step 5: Change of heart? Kiss and make up

Kiss and Make Up is a way for members to change negative or neutral feedback if an issue has been resolved. You will find the link for Kiss and Make Up underneath the negative or neutral feedback entry that on Your Etsy > Feedback > Completed Feedback. When you initiate a Kiss and Make Up offer, a Convo is automatically sent by Etsy to both you and the other person involved in the transaction. Both parties must agree to change the feedback rating from negative/neutral to positive. You can initiate Kiss and Make Up for neutral or negative feedback that you have left or received.


FAQ

How does the feedback score work?
The feedback score is the cumulative total of all positives (+1) and negatives (-1) you receive. Neutral feedback does not effect the user's rating number; it is neither positive or negative. The feedback score rounds up to the closest whole number, so it is possible for a member to have a 100% positive rating, but still have negative or neutral feedback.
How does batch feedback work?
Batch feedback allows you to submit multiple feedback entries at the same time. To use this feature, go to Your Etsy > Feedback > Items Awaiting Feedback and click the batch feedback tool link. The page will change to show a single Submit Batch Feedback button below the list of items awaiting feedback.

Select a rating and add an optional comment for each item. Feedback will only be submitted for items if you select a positive/neutral/negative rating. You do not have to submit feedback for every item on the page at the same time. To submit the feedback entries, simply click the Submit Batch Feedback button at the bottom.

You will not be able to add an appreciation photo when submitting batch feedback, but you can add the images later individually. If you leave a positive rating, you may add your appreciation photo by clicking the Completed Feedback tab and viewing "Left for others."
How can I add an appreciation photo after feedback was submitted?
Since you cannot submit appreciation photos when using the batch feedback tool, Etsy will allow you to add a photo later for positive feedback entries you've left for others.

Go to Your Etsy > Feedback > Completed Feedback, and then choose the "Left for Others" option. Click the "Add Image" link next to the positive feedback you've left for a specific item. On the next page, use the browse button to locate the image file on your computer and click Submit to add it. Images may be in gif, jpeg, or png format. You can only add one appreciation photo per item.
When should I leave feedback?
The best time to leave feedback is after the transaction is complete. If you are a seller, you may leave feedback after you have received payment, once you have shipped the item, or once the buyer has received it. A buyer should leave feedback after they receive the item. The ability to leave feedback will expire 90 days after the transaction date.
What sort of comment should I leave in feedback?
Your comment may include information about the transaction with the other party and about the item itself.
Can I delete or edit feedback?
Feedback can be changed by using our Kiss and Make Up feature. This feature only applies to negative or neutral feedback and requires both parties involved to agree to change the feedback to positive.

I can't leave feedback for a transaction. What happened?
You have 90 days from the transaction date to leave feedback. After 90 days, the ability to leave feedback expires.

Also, if the transaction was canceled by the seller, the ability to leave feedback is removed.
