There are certain stories that really bring me too much joy to tabulate. And Charles De Lint's <u>Newford</u> stories continue to do so. This image was inspired by a dream I had after reading his tales of urban fantasy.

This image won the Juror's Choice Award at Hand Pulled: Juried Mid-Atlantic Print Show at the Ellipse Arts Center in Alexandria, VA in 2007.

6x9" linoleum block print on Japanese rice paper.

PROCESS:

Relief printing is carving your design in reverse into a substrate like wood or linoleum and then rolling ink over the raised portions to press onto paper. Think crayon rubbings in reverse, or potato stamps. But more complex.

This was three blocks of linoleum, one red, two black. Printed on an etching press.

Print will come rolled and mailed in a hard tube, unframed. May best be displayed in a "floating frame", without mat. If matted, mat should surround, not overlap, the print paper edges.

I am open to framing, if you'd like to inquire I can get you a quote for that.
