This set caught my eyes at the antique market in the Netherlands this spring. I have never seen this type of small enamel tins wrapped with leather straps - so cute and unusual!
After spending quite a bit of time researching these, I haven't found anything that points to the intended use or year of origin so my best guess is that these are from the 1950s and possibly part of a picnic basket or travel set.
These are in excellent condition, totally clean inside with minor scratches and fading, only a single chip (see last photo). The gold pin striping is also in great shape, still shiny.
There is some damage to the leather straps, however: one is broken (I still have the separated piece) and the other doesn't have a hole punched where it should be to close properly (see 4th photo).
All three are stamped "Germany." on the bottom and all three have handwritten marks reading "708 37" in authentic German handwriting (I learned exactly how to write those 7s and 8s when I started grade school in Germany decades ago :)
Size: 3.25" tall, 2.75" diameter
Listing is for all 3
