This is a beautiful earthenware ewer, glazed in cobalt. There is an applique scene of a pretty lady in a long gown in a field of flowers holding a pot of flowers on the front of the ewer. On the back is solid cobalt blue.
It has a beautiful raised scroll design of pink, green and ivory on the front, sides and around the top edge of the ewer. There is a raised design on the spout. The spout is green.
On the base are the numbers 11215 and below that 64 are impressed. It has no other marks to determine where it was made, but it looks to be in the French style.
The ewer measures 6 1/2" tall 3 1/2" wide 2 1/2" base and 1 1/4" opening at top.
This is in great condition except for a slight chip of paint on the inside handle as shown in the pic and a couple very small areas of paint loss. There are no cracks but there is some crazing on the inside spout due to age.
This is a gorgeous ewer to display or use as a vase.
