Lovely purple and lavender iris decorate this vintage cake plate. Even though it doesn't have a signature on the back, I'm pretty sure it is Bavarian. Done in the Bavarian style so popular in the 1930's, it is a beautiful transferware design on a white cake plate that has detailed edges with delicate raised scrollwork. Two cutout handles on the sides.
The pattern is a bouquet of lavender, purple and green irises filled in with daisies.
There are no chips, cracks or repairs. The floral pattern has a few wear marks and the gold trim is almost completely gone. In my opinion, this worn patina adds to the charm!
