These earrings are made from Kazuri Beads. Kazuri is Swahili for "small and beautiful." The Kazuri beads are made and hand painted by women in Kenya. The Kazuri Bead business started as a cottage industry with the social mission of making work for a few women. Today, nearly 400 women, who are all paid fair wages and then the goods are sold under the Fair Trade Agreement, are employed. This ethically run business has helped many women, especially single mothers, to work their way out of poverty and care for their family.
Each bead is unique, one of a kind, hand painted. All jewelry is assembled with love.
