Hubble Space Telescope image that inspired this colorway:
Set amid a backdrop of soft, glowing blue light are wispy tendrils of gas as well as dark trunks of dust that are light-years in height. This landscape image shows the edge of the giant gaseous cavity within the star-forming region called NGC 3324. Located in the Southern Hemisphere, NGC 3324 is at the northwest corner of the Carina Nebula (NGC 3372), home of the Keyhole Nebula and the active, outbursting star Eta Carinae. The entire Carina Nebula complex is located at a distance of roughly 7,200 light-years, and lies in the constellation Carina.
About this yarn:
Cassiopeia is an 80/20 blend of springy merino with lovely, luscious silk. The fibers are well-combed and spun with a gentle twist for the right stability in these two lovely fibers. According to Greek myth, Cassiopeia was a queen, renowned for her beauty and this laceweight offering certainly lives up to its namesake. This 2-ply yarn creates beautiful drape in the knitted fabric, with the added warmth and softness of merino wool. If you love silk shawls and scarves, you'll love knitting with this wonderful silk blend.
Hand wash gently in cold water. Do not wring. Lay flat to dry.
This colorway is available as a custom order. Note that all my yarns are hand-dyed and no two skeins are the same, despite similarities.
This item is multi-colored in red, white, and blue tones. This listing is for one 100g skein in the colorway shown in the picture. The skein is shown before and after re-skeining, so you have a better idea of how the yarn will look knitted/crocheted. I take pictures that represent the color/texture of the item as accurately as I can. Please remember that monitors vary in how they render colors. If you have any questions, I welcome your conversation.
All my yarns are hand-dyed one at a time, using high-quality, professional dyes in a non-smoking, pet-free home.
