Part of the Familiars Collection.
This is a hand-embroidered Stag head set into a gold plated pendant. The Stag is stitched in 100% cotton and the piece worked on to heavy vintage cotton, which has been lightly dyed using organic tea, giving a lovely, antiqued mottle.
He has been worked in split stitch, and has the feel of a traditional English woodland about him.
My embroideries are painstakingly worked in miniature. I use magnifying lamps to help me make the tiny stitches, most no more than a millimetre long. I use an array of fine English needles to ensure the finish is neat and tidy. The embroidery alone took over 3 hours to create on this design. It is the very second of a strictly limited edition.
It is mounted into a high quality gold plated pendant and measures 55mm x 40mm in size and hangs on a 26” gold plated chain with sturdy gold plated lobster clasp. It is a classic setting for an unusual composition.
It comes from a smoke-free household, and has all my care, skill and love stitched into it.
