Ms. Jeannie also always loves dual-purpose antiques and this one is just that! A French Saxon, semi-porcelain, 22kt gold rimmed dinner plate that can function as serving platter or as part of your country cottage wall art display.
Do you adore that Tiffany color blue tea towel pictured beneath the plate? It's for sale in my shop also! Please click here
About the platter: Measures 12" inches (ilength) x 9.25" inches (width). Marked on back: French Saxon China 1 Union Made U.S.A. 22kt Gold. The pattern is FSx2.
The platter contains an elegant floral pattern in the colors of celery green, ice pink, dove grey and lavendar surrounded by a scalloped edge. Very delicate and very feminine! Wonderful crazing and very light foxing add to the aged patina. The underside contains small chips along the edges but those cannot be seen from the front.
About French Saxon: Born out of a fusion of French China and Saxon China, the French Saxon China Company was formed in 1934 in Sebring, Ohio. It manufactured dinnerware under the Frech Saxon mark up until it purchased Royal China in 1964. French Saxon china was most popular in the 1930's.
