This is the second in a set of two absolutely wonderful Dutch educational posters that I picked up during my recent visit to the Netherlands.
The illustrations are beautiful watercolors with exquisite detail and a warm, earthy palette. This poster would look great in a living or dining room or even a home office or studio!
This poster is overall in very good condition for its age. It does have some wrinkling and cracks but nothing major, certainly not that would detract from the overall charm and character of the poster.
It was used to teach students about various mushrooms, all of which are numbered and are identified with the common name in Dutch and the scientific name in Latin. There are 18 mushrooms shown on the poster.
It was illustrated by A. Middelhoek; published by W.J. Thieme & Cie in the city of Zutphen; and printed by de Ijsel in the city of Deventer. From the information I've found online, I'm estimating this poster to be printed in the 1950s.
Paper is backed by linen and hung from wood dowels.
Poster size: 38.5" wide x 27" tall
including dowels: 39.5" wide x 28.5"
Perfect gift for the outdoorsy vintage lover!
