At many west coast beaches, the receding tide reveals a wealth of life, including the craggy white shells of oysters sprinkled along the shoreline. Closed up tight against the air, their ruffled shells are dotted with barnacles and other marine life. This oyster's shell is cracked open a bit to give you a look at the treasure inside, it's silky shape and a tiny little pearl. Many folks enjoy oysters as a savoury treat (or an aphrodisiac!), but this one will be better served to add a touch of the seaside to your home.
This oyster is entirely hand stitched from layers of creamy linen and silk and stuffed with locally sourced wool. It measures roughly 6" long and is one of a kind.
