The Goddess Epona was not only revered and worshiped by the ancient Celtic people as a loving protector of horses, donkeys, and mules, but also as a protector of their owners as well. Epona was commonly represented as a white mare, or a women who rode side-saddle upon a white mare. She was also known as a goddess of fertility, re-birth and abundance. Epona existed in other guises throughout the Celtic world, becoming Rhiannon in Wales, and Mach in Ireland.
Thirteen 8mm White Howlite beads are wire-wrapped with Amethyst and Hematite. The number thirteen represents the thirteen full moons in a year. Finished off with a generous chunk of Amethyst, a pewter knot-work connector and a stunningly detailed pewter horse pendant.
