This would be a definite show-piece in your home. Family heirloom or wedding decor or gift.
All hand made from burlap, up cycled lace, ruffles, ribbon, crochet, buttons, and string.
The ends are layered, the bottom is long, white eyelet ruffles. Then I added crochet lace ruffles. Added to that, crochet lace shapes, buttons, and white burlap string adorn the top of the ruffles.
Between the crochet shapes are bundles of torn lace, cut lace, white ribbon, and white fabric pieces, which have been sewn and upholstery glued on for strength. Sheer rows of ruffles top off the tablecloth, and are lined against the edge of the white burlap. The center is a large lace square, which has been sewn down with added upholstery glue, to give it extra strength and security. To top off the lace, I added 5 cut lace circles, each adorned with buttons and white string. The long sides are lined with a shear ruffle, which has been glued down to prevent fraying, and to keep the tablecloth straight.
All the pieces you see on this tablecloth, besides the burlap, are up cycled from old linens.
I do consider these pieces of art. They are very time consuming. There is a lot of work that goes into each table cloth. I never get cheap with my materials. This will be the only one like this. It can not be duplicated.
Size- Minus the ruffle ends, the burlap measures 63" by 43". Overall length 94". Overall width 49".
(My table is a bit short and it still looks good. These are very forgiving. They have a look that allows the table to be a bit longer or shorter)
My pieces are made to have character. What you see in the picture is the item I send you. REMEMBER this is shabby tattered home decor. Strings and torn pieces of lace and ruffles are part of it. The charm of up cycled pieces. I look at every item I make as an art piece. I do not hold back on any of my work. Every piece is ooak and hard to duplicate.
Most is sewn and upholstery glued for extra hold.
