This amazing lantern is made from a salvaged, tattered School Geography Atlas, dated 1921. It has fascinating diagrams and information relating to such areas as 'Mean Annual Rainfall', 'Isotherms', 'Monsoon Drifts' and more.
Handcut paper circles are applied to a paper lampshade with a wire structure inside so the finished lantern is quite strong and durable. The warm colours of the vintage paper help to soften the harsh light of modern energy-efficient bulbs.
The listing is for the paper shade only; the lantern is for use with a standard ceiling pendant type lamp shade holder.
This lantern is unique and you will receive the one featured here.
The lantern is approx 12", the maximum bulb recommended for this size shade is 60 watts.
Packaged for shipping in a strong mailing box, carefully wrapped to arrive safely.
