This brooch once lived as part of a good ol' British tree before our famed weather rustled and tussled its branches. Thankfully though, the cast aside branch has been put to good use! The natural wood-grain is a delight to see and feel and the perfect canvas for some 'homegrown' pattern work. Water and Ash is a new collection featuring found woods emblazoned with Gx2 illustrations and designs - hand signed in a hidden corner where possible!
♡ The Inspiration Behind the Collection ♡
Inspired by my childhood holidays to the British Coast and Woodland walks, Water & Ash combines the use of organic shapes in found woods with bright and bold pattern work. The patterns hint on navajo style and folk decoration, a signature of my illustrative style.
