“It’s just an old wooden crate for heaven’s sake. Rosie don’t you get carried away with it now.” Angie said in a condescending tone.
“But...it’s, it’s soo beautiful Angie, just look at it,” Rosie replied as she lifted the box up and looked carefully at it’s construction. “Why just look at the craftsmanship that went into building it. It’s a piece of art, an absolute piece of art.”
“It’s a box, isn’t there something else here you’d like to buy?” Angie swept her hands widely in a futile attempt to get Rosie to look around at all the other items that surrounded them at the annual Thompson County Fall Flea Market.
It was to no avail of course because Rosie was holding the old wooden crate close to her chest as she began to rattle off all the things she could do with the box. “I can make a book shelf out of it...or maybe fill it with flower pots...oh, wouldn’t it look great filled with old mason jars...” She went on and on with the possibilities and Angie knew her whimsical friend was lost to the box.
Here's a wonderfully distressed wooden produce crate with endless possibilities. The crate is 19.5" X 12" X 11" and constructed of 3" wide wood slats and nailed together on the sides and two 5.5" slats on the bottom . "Spencer 42" is painted in black on three sides. The inside corners are reinforced with a piece of wood in each corner.
This wood crate has definitely seen some use with lots of scars and distress but the overall integrity is good. The wood has a nice gray patina with some darker stains and rusted nail heads. There are some splits in the wood slates so you wouldn't want to use this box to hold heavy items. The printed graphics on three sides are light but still legible.
This is a heavier, bulky item so International Shipping is not available.
