Some fun with old post cards. These are delicate because they are so old. True antiques! The one from 1906 does not have much of a message, but the second one, is a fun read about someone's first imoression of Carlin Nevada. and exerpt:
"9 saloons, 3 hotel and 2 gambling houses—
I never saw such a place in my whole life—
men gamble their money at the crap table,
roulette wheel and poker table—all done openly..."
Most of the old postcards are very brittle and can crack when folding. These two seemed to hold up ok, but I wouldn't open and close them more than needed...The first card was sent in 1906 (106 years old!) looks to be sent in the U.K. The second is anywhere from 1906 to 1909, I believe (could be wrong about that, no matter the exact year, it is old!) and is sent to New York City from Nevada.
Personally, I see these as part of a home decor display. Perhaps on an old desk or among equally antique books, writing implements, etc. Of course it is your decision on how you will use these truly unique little journals, just keep in mind that they are delicate!
