Manufactured by Belknap Hardware, the maker's of the "Blue Grass" line of tools. At the height of their business success, Belknap carried a 3000 page catalog full of hardware and household items, including tools, furniture and toys. This cooler was most likely made in the 1950's and is the same shade of blue-green as many of their toolboxes. A rare piece, as I could not find another one when researching this one.
Probably not useable for food storage any longer, at least not without a lot of work, but still perfect as a garden planter or for garage storage or display. The outer finish has a worn, rusty patina, but no spots that appear to have rusted through. The lid still fits very snuggly and appears to seal tightly. The inside is galvanized metal, but has some rust and corrosion. It may be possible to clean it, as it appears to be on top of the galvanized metal and not in it.
Measures approx. 16" x 10" x 12".
