I knew I had to stitch up some of this fabric as soon as it arrived and am thrilled to be able to share the results with you! This piece is one of a kind, combining the large florals of Anna Maria Horner's summer totem fabric from her loulouthi line of quilting cottons with my own hand embroidery. I've selected each floss color carefully and used a variety of stitches to highlight each aspect of the design including french knots, slip stitch, chain stitch, stem stitch, and back stitch.
The piece can be hung on its own or as an addition to any grouping of artwork as the unique texture and color make it a accent to 2D works. It's all ready for you to hang as it has been permanently mounted within the 4 inch embroidery hoop that it was worked in and backed with a plain turquoise linen. The overall diameter is app. 4 3/4 inches.
