Okay people, let's address the elephant in the room. Yes, it seems that Dr. Wang has a boner. That's right, I said it! A boner! I don't know what the hell went on during his death/preservation, but he seemed to die a very happy man. If you don't believe me, check it out for yourself in the third photo. He reminds me of one of those creepy old men wearing a trench coat who flash people for kicks. Only this guy's coat is a little too short and his goods are on display for the world to see. I've never seen a bat preserved like this before! He is truly one-of-a-kind
Dr. Wang is hanging in a resting position (well, most of him anyway!) in a lantern made of metal and glass. The lantern stands about 16 inches tall, about 6 inches deep, and about 6 inches wide. It has a ring on the top that it can hang from, or it can sit on a shelf, etc. The lantern has a door that is able to be opened and closed. Dr. Wang can also be removed from the lantern, as he is only tied in there with a string that is attached to the wooden rod where his feet are positioned. His mouth is opened, showcasing his beautiful little fangs! He is a real beauty and would love to find his new home.
I'm not exactly sure how this little guy was preserved, buy when he arrived in the mail, he had a strong smell of mothballs. I have since aired him out, but there is still a small scent of mothballs when you get close to him. Keeping the lantern door closed does help. But the fact remains, this little guy is hauntingly charming--even if he is a bit of a Smelly Nelly!
Due to the size and fragility of the lantern, the shipping costs more than usual. If you would prefer to purchase only the bat without the lantern, that will greatly reduce the shipping cost. The price will still be the same with or without the lantern ($120), but the shipping will be only $6.00 without the lantern. Convo me before you pay if you want to purchase Dr. Wang without his lantern and I will edit the shipping price in the listing for you!
