I'm so excited!! My embroidered spiders are featured in the 2013 issue of Better Homes and Gardens Holiday Crafts magazine! Page 14, for all you DIY-ers! :)
The spider skitters across turquoise with white polka dots, and I've embroidered "eek." beneath (yes, the letters are uneven on purpose! :) how can a person write evenly with a big, fat spider so nearby?). The piece is stretched in a 4.5" (11.4cm) embroidery hoop frame with a layer of muslin. The fabrics are glued securely to the back of the hoop, and I recycled a piece of cardboard to back the piece.
Black and gold braided trim wraps the perimeter of the hoop, and black gingham ribbon is tied to the top of the hoop and creates a loop in the back for hanging.
