My cozies are created using the technique of freeform crochet. Each piece is entirely one of a kind. This one is adorned with three strands of crocheted "vine" dangling from the top.
The material is mostly wool, mostly hand dyed and handspun. Now and then other materials find their way in - alpaca, silk, and rarely a bit of synthetic, but I'd say each cozy is at least 98% wool. The hand dyed, handspun yarn has such fantastic texture, and freeforming is a method for making yet more texture. I find I look and look at a freeform piece and always find a little interesting bit I didn't notice before.
Each cozy has a slot for the handle and an opening for the spout. It's made to fit a 4-6 cup pot (it's pictured on my smaller Brown Betty pot).
