For your consideration, a very cool mod cased glass vase in sophisticated black amethyst glass, circa 1960s Germany from Gralgas Dürnau. These vases are fairly rare in the US. This one was part of the Las Palmas line designed by Roland Pusch for Gralgas Dürnau and were produced between 1965 and 1969 (Source: Dusseldorf Museum of Art). The shape of the vase and the dimpled base identify it, as well as the original Gral label. Clearly inspired by Scandinavian design, the vase is substantial, understated, and modern. The vase appears jet black but when viewed against a light source, it takes on a deep violet hue, the color is so saturated it does not appear transparent, yet is. The vase is in good vintage condition. Picture 3 shows some very small surface scratches by the label. Picture 4 shows a small fleabite chip, about 2mm in diameter, on the rim. Measures 8.5 inches in height and approximately 3 inches in diameter. The base is highly polished. A rare and unique piece for your mid century glass collection.
Overall condition is reflected in the price.
