One of my first investigations in my current body of work depicting interior spaces that I have inhabited, coveted, passed through, or imagined. This image is derived from my memory of my first apartment – the way the light would slide across those polished floors, the way we were too poor to fill the rooms with much of anything, how enthralling it was to feel connected to this place of my own.
