What made me buy this 1870 geography book is the maps. I love the colors, especially the water. it is almost a jadeite green! Though there are 18 maps, there is more to the book than that. There are also many detailed engravings in black and white common to school books of this period. My pics focus on the maps because I love them so much!! The book has its problems: there is some water damage on the inside and out of the back cover and the binding is halfway loose. The pages however, are in very good shape. Some of the maps would be suitable for framing, but I didn't have the heart to tear them out of the book as it is still halfway intact. A wonderful piece of history!
