During the Depression Era in the 1930's beautiful glassware was created and used as "freebies" in cereal and detergent boxes to entice people to buy more, complete a set and stimulate the economy. Heart dishes such as this one, were made in the shape of the card suits...heart, club, diamond and spade. They were called "BRIDGE SETS" and were used as ashtrays or nut dishes while playing bridge. In the 1970's Tiara bought the old Sandwich Glass molds and began making reproductions. This dish would be a reproduction from the 1970's.
WHAT A GREAT WAY TO DISPLAY THIS LOVELY VINTAGE DISH! We never drill holes in our vintage dishes or harm them in any way when we create our windchimes. We truly respect the age of these lovely old dishes and do our best to preserve them while updating their use.
This is a highly collected pattern and this chime will be a great addition to any collection. The dangles are cut from stained glass in co-ordinating color and textures and hang from the metal filigree surrounding the dish.
This very UNIQUE chime is visually beautiful and has a SWEET TINKLING SOUND in a light breeze. It will look FABULOUS hanging anywhere in your house, especially next to that china cabinet where you keep your COLLECTION of DEPRESSION GLASS.
Glass chimes are not recommended for outdoor use!
