Banded agate was especially popular with the Victorians as souvenir jewelry during the grand tour era, this piece is a lovely example. Very sheer, the bands look like ribbons of fudge and caramel wafting though almost an almost clear background.
*Please notice the line in the center of the stone - it looks like a fissure but this is an inclusion within the stone and not a crack. It does not extend to either side nor does it break the surface of the stone.
Really pretty piece for the collector of antique banded agate.
Ships boxed - no sense in sending something this pretty in an envelope and chancing it being smashed along the way.
