The rings in this necklace are independent to the jump rings and have lots of movement to them.
The old lost art of Dorset button making, but with my modern twist. This is an old rarely seen craft of weaving threads onto rings to create buttons. I've given the idea a facelift by making them into keyrings, bag charms, earrings etc.
I created this necklace by weaving light blue crochet thread onto one medium sized light weight brass ring and turquoise crochet thread onto a larger ring. I created an open ring design which is called rounding in Dorset buttons, this is similar to tatting in crochet. I then linked the two rings together with silver plated jump rings. I cut a length of silver plated chain and threaded the rings on this and then finished off the necklace with a silver plated lobster claw clasp and ring fastener.
Size: length inc hooks: 4.8cm / 2inch

large buttons diameter: 2.7cm
