The still life consists of six bottle forms. All pieces are made of low fire clay, so these bottles can't be used for utilitarian purposes. However, a dried flower or a twig placed in on of these would naturally blend in with this setup. Pieces are completely hand sculpted by using very thin slabs. No molds have been utilized in the process. The pieces have been treated with underglazes, engobes, glaze and oxide washes in a subtle, layered way. In contrast to most of my sculptural pieces, the majority (four) of bottles in this still life are finished with an application of reflective clear glaze. The piece in its entirety would make a lovely, rustic visual statement in just about any space.
The tallest bottle measures approximately 16" in height.
