Quilted or figured wood is formed by compression, and one in hundreds of trees may have it. It is not prominent throughout the whole tree, only in parts. It takes a trained eye to catch it when timbering the tree and is referred to as "chasing the figure". (Hearne Hardwoods Inc.)
These small forks were hand-drawn, hand-cut, extensively sanded, then finished with a carnauba hand rub wax which gives it durability and protection against water.
These are perfect for small bun pins, half ups, or tacking down a messy twist.
