This quilt is my original design and is one of a kind.
I pieced all of the blocks on my personal sewing machine. Then I layered the quilt top with Warm and Natural batting (a high quality cotton batting that is nice and warm without bulkiness) and Kona Solid in Bone for backing. I quilted, or top stitched, an allover curvy pattern, called stippling, to off set the points and angles of the design.
I then used the aqua with white polka dots to bind the quilt edges by folding it in half and attaching it by machine to the top of the quilt. I then fold the double layer of fabric over the edges of the quilt and hand stitch is down to the back, using a technique that hides the stitches. This method of binding provides a clean, crisp look to the quilt that covers the outside seams.

THE INSPIRATION FOR THE COLLECTION
When I first lived on my own, I had a huge patch of peonies in the yard. It was a special time to me to see the large fragrant flowers first blooming from the kitchen window. That is why I was so drawn to Vintage Modern by Bonnie and Camille. Each fabric is feminine with a vintage feel, but the colors are bright and modern. It speaks to me as I love traditional quilting but with a modern twist.
