Branching out for s/s 2012 - I've created this small collection of hair accessories, which are constructed from precious and semiprecious materials and subsequently, are almost like jewelry for the hair. Each piece is an hand-wired sculpture inspired by an exotic flowering plant. This Bird of Paradise is built upon the brass base using a combination of flame coral, blue pearl, and green keishi pearls. The repurposed vintage-stock brass ponytail holder is very versatile for styling - it can be used to hold chignons, ponytails, or almost any upswept style you can concoct. The curved shape frames the hair beautifully and the small metal teeth hold the hairdo in place. I think these would be perfect for nearly all summery special events and occasions, from weddings to vacations. The nacre covering almost every inch of these pearls catches the light and imparts a kind-of soft, shimmering sumptuousness that looks equally engaging when paired with a silk cocktail dress or a cotton tee.
