This bright orange pressed glass salt cellar was used during the early to mid 20th century and was placed at a table setting in wealthier homes. Little glass or silver spoons used to accompany these and have been lost over the years. I created a wonderful vintage button lid for this salt cellar out of vintage buttons and notions. The colored glass salt cellars are much more difficult for me to find. The two base buttons are black celluloid, each with their own markings and designs. A orange Bakelite button inn the shape of a flower sits under a black faceted plastic button. On top is a black button stud, which makes the perfect little handle. Another button is placed under the lid to keep it in place. Now the salt cellar is a sweet little resting place for your rings, earrings, a fine chain necklace, or any small precious item!
Ring box measures about 1 3/4" in diameter and about 1 3/4" tall with lid. Opening is about 1 1/8" in diameter with about 1/2" depth. This one is best for skinny rings like the ones pictured.
Enjoy a one of a kind item that is impossible for me to recreate!
