The very first version of CONNECT 2 was made for a group exhibition at Elaboratorio gallery in La Condesa, Mexico City. If it wasn't for Arturo Mizrahi and Lili Carpinteiro, the gallery directors, pushing me to produce a piece for the upcoming show I don't think the CONNECT series would have evolved quite the same way. A mutual friend showed him images of the first chandelier I made in Denver, Colorado and he became interested in meeting me. We had a brief meeting and arranged that I would produce the piece in the gallery space. It was amazing to spend that time there and meet all of the artists that came in and out - some of whom became my closest friends. For that reason, CONNECT 2 is uniquely special to me because it carries with it that very personal story.
