This necklace is inspired by evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins and his foundation's "out campaign" that encourages atheists and agnostics to come forward and not to hide their ideology. This design of course also references the period in history when female adulterers were shunned unfairly by society and forced to wear a scarlet letter A. The scarlet letter A has now been adopted as a symbol of pride and unity for a previously shunned and slowly emerging group of free thinkers.
The necklace is painted in a spotted brown glaze with red and white details.
Great for men and women! I have posted a few photos of the beautiful, Surly A Kovacs wearing a similar piece so you can get a feel for how great this will look on.
We stamp every piece on the back for authenticity so you know you're getting an original, high quality, artist made, Surly Ramics design.
The pendant is approx. 2.25"h and has an 18" very soft black faux suede cord. ****************I will be happy to add a longer cord if you let me know via message to seller during checkout. Please let me know if you want the cord to be 20", 22", 24" or 26". :)******************
We offer chains and other color cords as an option for our pendants. You can go to the chain section in my shop and purchase them separately. If you buy a chain or other cord I still include the black cord with the pendant as well in case you want to switch back and forth. • Click here to pick out a chain or other cords: http://www.etsy.com/shop/surly?section_id=5974323
The necklace comes packed in a pretty little black box and is perfect for gift giving. (even if the gift is for you!)
