Antique Victorian Taille d'Epargné locket with a black enamel orchid, and lacy blue enamel frame. Deep repoussé botanical back, with sparkling chased details, finely curved milgrain lines, and a sweetly scalloped edge. The interior has two compartments with original frames and glass, both deep enough to hold a lock of hair and or picture. Locket clicks shut and stays secure. In good condition, with endearing signs of age: opening edge has a subtle gap, wear to the gilt at edges, minor enamel loss at edges, frames are in a delicate but very functional state. I've added an 18 inch gold fill chain. A rather uncommon Victorian enameled black orchid locket in a handsome rectangular shape.
