This item required quite a bit of experimentation to get it just right. The secret turned out to be these small rubber rings which help hold the spike beads in standing position. With the rubber rings gripping them, the spikes are repositionable. If they ever fold down while in storage, you can fold them right back up again, and, of course, while dancing, they'll remain perfectly perpendicular to your head.

This is my 7 spike headpiece, half sized, best for really small heads and asymmetrical hairdos. It measures almost 7 inches around along the velvet base, and 6 inches from first to last spike.
