Wool camp blanket from John Murray's summer camp days. Dark brown stripes against a camel-beige background. Was $75.00, now $60.00.
Very rustic, very "Adirondack" style perfect for a summer camp decor or your autumn home. This would look amazing just hung on a wall, displayed at the foot of a bed or turned into throw pillows. Measures approx. 70" x 60". The series of brown stripes shows on both ends of the blanket. Graphically appealing. Most likely dates from the 1950s/60s, maybe late 40s.
Still very usable, very displayable and has been lovingly stored away for a long time.
Condition: Several small clusters of moth activity, mainly to one end, that are noticeable when held to the light. Because of the double weave of the blanket, the vast majority of these areas do not go all the way through and remain on the surface of the blanket. ) There is an area that someone has taken the time to darn/repair and measures somewhere between the size of a nickle and a quarter, and of course, some faint yellowing/stains. I don't really have a good area for laying this out flat and photographing but I did fan it out and attached a photograph to the listing. I have perpetual allergies but both my husband and my son took a "sniff" test and there are no odors. Loose/missing whip stitching around the hems.
This blanket would work best in a display capacity, either at the foot of a bed, hung on a wall or transformed into accent pillows. I always choose items that I would be happy and proud to own and display in my own home. This old blanket should still be used in some capacity and is far from being permanently retired.
Wool Camp Blanket from John Murray's Summer Camp Days was 75. now 60.
