Milagros features a black and white detail of a photograph of the semi-restored side chapel room of St. Roch Cemetery. Located just a few blocks from the French Quarter in New Orleans, St. Roch Cemetery is the home of a chapel that was consecrated to Saint Roch, the Catholic patron saint of the diseased and lovers of dogs.
A small side room in the chapel houses the mementos (milagros) indicative of the cures and healings attributed to Saint Roch. A faint whisper of Voodoo is also attached to the chapel as there are rumors of Voodoo ceremonies being held here. The floor of this room is paved with bricks that say "thanks".
Prior to Katrina, a life-size statue of Saint Roch was housed in the main chapel. Katrina and the subsequent failure of the levies caused massive flooding in the cemetery, and the statue was damaged. At the time this photograph was taken, the head of the statue was placed in the chapel atop a brick that said "Thanks St. Roch".
Milagros is printed on premium acid free archival photograph paper, and mounted on black 5x7 card stock. Comes with a matching black envelope. Great for a unique thank you card and the card can also be framed.
