The compact is round, measuring 3" in diameter, and is 7/16" deep. The underside of the lid is a mirror, and the well has the original, replaceable powder cake. The back is etched with a radiating design. The compact came from an estate in England and, according to the owner, was made in England.
The compact is in excellent vintage condition. There is no rust or tarnish, no staining or discoloration, no loss of the enameling, no missing marcasites. The hinge is strong and functional and closes tightly. The mirror inside is pristine, with no loss of the silvering.
This is a wonderful compact. It is a beautiful design, and can be used immediately, as it accommodates standard replacement powder cakes.
