This little baby doll was made in Japan and appears to be in an original gingham outfit as she is stitched into it. Her braids are brittle and have or will break off soon. She is probably historically significant as an example of a "pickaninny" doll. The whites of her eyes are drawn completely around the irises. She has some nicks in her paint, especially on the back of her head. She has no other chips or cracks.
