This Art Deco Dance Compact is in Very Good Condition for its age. It shows age related wear in the form of light scuffing to both the top and bottom; but there are no dents, dings, rust or corrosion. On the top, the machine tooled and enameled guilloche shows only one pin point size scuff near the center flower at the 3 o'clock position. The back has a machine tooled guilloche Art Deco alternating stripe pattern. Inside, the top houses a half moon mirror that has some mild hazing, an empty rouge compartment, and a clean rouge puff. The lower empty powder compartment has a sifter wheel that turns freely by a micro handle in the center. The attached handle which connects the wrist chain swings about 120 degrees in both directions from dead center. The compact measures 2 1/8 inches in diameter, not including the handle. The chain is 9 1/2 inches in total length. There are no hallmarks as to manufacturer or origin. The hinges and clasp are alligned, and they open and close securely.
This pretty Art Deco Dance Compact would make a stellar addition to someone's collection of 1920s womens vanity items, or a terrific display piece.
