During the wanderings of Odysseus, we learn how Penelope remains at home, unwavering in her patience, faith and constancy. But it’s a mistake to equate constancy with changelessness. To endure the endless siege of loutish suitors, Penelope required daily metamorphoses. Unless she adapted, she could not have survived; unless she, like the ocean itself, curled and swelled beyond her circumstances, they would have enveloped her. As you progress through your next project, remember that the calm in the center needs to be cushioned inside a spiral of transformation. Let the changes change you.
These skeins of 100% superwash merino are as squishy as they are sturdy. They have been kettle-dyed with luminous teals, streaked with iridescent dark saturated cold mallard greens and midnight blues. On this base, Penelope is at the greenest edge of its range, where it offers some of the greatest tonal depth and saturation available to this colorway. Given the nature of hand-dyed yarns, these skeins are well-matched but not exactly identical, so we recommend alternating between skeins should your project require more than one. This is a repeatable colorway-- feel free to contact me with a custom order request should you require additional quantities for your project.
