Utterly divine, statement-making and over-the-top.
Gypsy-inspired and the palette pulled from Privat-Livemont's 1896 advert "Absinthe Robette." The form of the earring takes shape out of solid fine silver, forged into lace-like diamonds embellished with bezel-set old-world, rose cut prehnites and chrystoprase. Streaming below are tassels of glowing smooth, shaded chrysoprase and faceted lemon-lime ethereal prehnite. I've created a chevron of shaded peach moonstone and orange carnelian, mirroring the pointed diamond shape of the fine silver coins. Exceptional grade silvery natural (not cultured) saltwater keishi pearls bloom atop the tassels -- petite freshwater organic shaped pearls and glowing antique glass pearls accent and add depth. Over one hundred sparkling, colorful stones have been used in this set -- plus dozens of pearls creating a lush and dense pair.
The patina of the fine silver diamond-shaped coins is a delicate work of art on its own; it is unique and varies across the surface. It is oxidized and sparkles with the light, and has a bronzed, antiqued gold finish. Antiqued brass and gold fill accent the bezels and the varied finish adds to the feel that this set is a well-worn, well-loved antiqued treasure. As with all my hand-forged silver pieces, one coin dons my signature stone, a ruby red corundum, letting you know it is a Lee Ohio original. This signature, as described by one of my clients: "The tiny red stone in the back is so pretty! It's like wearing a secret..."
