Last week I experimented with using two different colors of stoneware clay, white and brown. I combined the two colors to make some interesting patterns. This pattern reminded me of wood grain. I left the surface of the clay natural and unglazed. On the inside I used a lovely creamy speckled matte and added a vintage botanical book image of some delicate mushrooms. This image actually fires into the glaze and is very permanent.
About 4 inches across.
