The Dragon Queen is 19.5” long, 17” tall, and 16” wide, entirely hand twisted (in the wings, hand netted) from straight pieces of wire – no molds, patterns, or “chicken wire.” Her galvanized steel sparkles with a starry blue-green painted finish, she has AB crystal eyes, and she wears exotic jewelry. She is signed in copper “rj12,” for ruth jensen and the year, which just happens to be the Chinese Year of the Dragon.

Her neckpiece is an intricate woven pendant of heavy hammered copper wire, with a faceted 12mm prehnite orb glowing beneath it. The neckpiece, tumble polished and sealed with Everbrite ProtectaClear, has a marvelous bonus feature: It is, with a little care, removable, so the Dragon Queen’s owner can wear it using the rose gold plated copper chain and hooks provided.

Since it is impossible to convey all the magic of the Dragon Queen in 5 photos, here is a link to more pictures on Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sparkflight/sets/72157630119539462/
