The multicolor scarf features shades of fuchsia, purple, sky blue, blue and turquoise, along with other shades that appear during the Shibori dyeing process. The scarf is different on each side and each end. I hand dyed the silk charmeuse trim pieces sky blue to match.
Humidity and temperature affect the Shibori dyeing process and the resulting design. The dye meanders with a mind of its own. The outcome is unpredictable and often surprising. Often color, spots, and designs appear as if out of no where. They should be considered part of the joy and whimsy of Shibori.
Although similar, no two Shibori pieces will ever be the same. Each scarf is a one of a kind wearable piece of art and can't be duplicated. The scarf has a soft, luxurious hand that feels wonderful next to the skin. It measures approximately 6.5" x 74".
The silk and finished scarf were dyed and sewn in my California studio using silk from China.
The scarf should be dry cleaned.
