A charming creation out of my mountain workshop, Mrs.Crow is an original design and completely hand sewn by me. I made Mrs. Crow's body out of muslin. I treated her with my coffee and spice mixture and put her through my distressing process to give her an old, antique look. Very rustic and primitive. I made her dress and scarf from homespun and apron from cotton sheeting with tiny country buttons. I then added a rusty bell to the top of her dress, fastening it on with a rusty safety pin. The nest she is cradling in her sculpted wing is burlap and spanish moss, her eyes are buttons. I made the babies' eyes with black french knots and the beaks with black felt. I spared no details on Mrs. Crow and her chicks!
Mrs. Crow sits 11 in high but is close to 19 in high including her legs. Her bottom is weighted so she can sit nicely on a shelf or mantel. I designed her to be a sitting crow, but she could also be used as a wall hanging. This little chick has a lot of charm. She would be a welcome addition to any prim lovers decor.
