This is a slabrolled piece, it has to be to get the square shape... After draping the clay over the mold that I created out of a thrift store find (Oh no! Not the "M" word!) I cut out the lip free form, so every piece I make is a little different. To further add to the 'soul' of the pot I used the palm of my hand to loosen up the lip, give it a little Leslie spirit :)
This guy measures roughly 11"x11", and is about 3" tall. I find I use this kind of baking dish for just about everything. Great for desserts, crisps, casserole dishes, serving, salads, you name it. Stoneware is excellent to bake with. It heats evenly, cleans up easily...I've burned on some dandies, so bad I thought I'd just turn it into a dog bowl rather than attempt cleaning it! But it came off surprisingly easy. Some of my customers have reported that their dishes look and taste much better when served from stoneware. They do!

Facebook anyone? Find and "like" appleware pottery and keep up with the latest news from around my place with pictures. Stop on by if you're in the Facebook neighborhood~ coffee's always on and surprises randomly appear for no particular reason or holiday. Just becauseI like the interaction and activity...Sometimes I'll ask for your help with photo surveys, opinion polls, just to see what my peeps are interested in so I know what to make when I plunk myself at the wheel.
Though at the moment my inventory is low feel free to pop into my shop for a glimpse of other things I make. I'll be adding more pots almost daily now that I am back in firing mode so be sure to check in often. Get them while they're hot, they usually don't gather much dust!
And last but certainly not least, thanks for visiting my shop and thanks for appreciating handmade!
